HIFU Treatment Principle

HIFU, which stands for "High Intensity Focused Ultrasound", is an extracorporeal energy that can transmit through living tissues and aim at the target benign tumor to cause a high temperature, resulting in tissue ablation.

The process is monitored by real-time ultrasound, supplemented with the preprocedure MRI so we can treat the lesion accurately, without damaging the surrounding tissues.

The focused ultrasonic energy makes a high temperature within the focal zone which causes irreversible cell death as "coagulation necrosis".

The procedure can directly cease the blood supply to the tumor through the destruction of the tumor-nourishing vessels, thus causing deprivation of nutrition and oxygen for the tumor cells and leads to tumor shrinkage.

This treatment is a non-invasive alternative to traditional surgical methods for treating myoma and adenomyosis.

New concept and management for Uterine fibroid & Adenomyosis

Non-invasive treatment
No incision, no bleeding, no anesthesia and no damage to normal tissues with preserving the uterus.

Cutting edge treatment
A brand new alternative with minimal harm and it can avoid some common complications from the traditional surgery.

Gentle treatment
Short hospital stay with fast recovery. Almost no impact to your daily routines, work or life quality.

Early treatment
We can ablate the lesion at early stage and prevent the future tumor enlargement, which also prevents following complicated treatment.

Segmental treatment
When dealing with the huge fibroids, segmental treatment is offered and to disperse the pressure to complete the treatment.

What is uterine fibroids & myoma?

It is the most common benign tumor of uterus observed in middle-aged woman, which usually occurs in the age between 30 and 50 years.

Common symptoms

The symptoms including: long heavy menstrual bleeding, lower abdominal pain, palpable / enlarged lower abdominal mass, chronic abdominal discomfort, urinary frequency, chronic constipation, anemia, repetitive miscarriages and infertility, etc.

Advantages of the non-invasive ultrasound ablation

No open wound, no bleeding, no potential risks of anesthesia under proper pain management, no potential risks / complications from the traditional surgery, such as adhesions, urinary tract injury, keloid scar, etc. And it takes shorter preparation time for future pregnancy.
